| Gynecologic
oncology surgery |
The
subspecialty of gynecologic oncology is an area
of medicine that encompasses the treatment of
cancers of the female reproductive tract. Together,
our physicians have more than 25 years of experience
in the treatment of gynecologic cancers.
|
| Minimally
invasive surgery |
Our
doctors utilize minimally invasive surgery techniques,
such as laparoscopy, to reduce post-operative
pain for our patients and to shorten the time
required for recovery. As a result, our patients
feel better faster and can resume normal activities
much more quickly than is possible with conventional
surgery techniques.
|
| Complex
gynecologic surgery |
The
experience our doctors bring with them to surgery
allows them to treat challenging cases with confidence.
Patients can rest assured that they are receiving
the best surgical care from our doctors.
|
| Precancerous
conditions (i.e. abnormal Pap smear) |
In
addition to the work we do in the treatment of
cancer, our doctors diagnose and treat precancerous
conditions. This ensures that any changes in disease
status are immediately detected. Our dedicated
approach to early detection of cancer allows us
to provide our patients with the most effective
treatment solutions.
|
| Chemotherapy
infusion center |
At
Lehigh Valley Women's Cancer Center, we treat
gynecologic cancers with various chemotherapy
drugs aimed at stopping the proliferation of malignant
cells. Our treatment area offers a warm, friendly
atmosphere so that you can rest and relax while
you receive your chemotherapy. Because the treatments
are outpatient, many of our patients are able
to continue with their daily lives.
|
| Breast
diseases - diagnosis and treatment |
At
Lehigh Valley Women's Cancer Center, our focus
is on the treatment of the whole woman. Our doctors
conduct a thorough breast exam on every patient
to determine if there is the potential for breast
disease. If an abnormality is detected, our doctors
will use the latest techniques to diagnose and
treat the problem.
|
| Cancer
screening |
Early
detection of malignant cells yields the best prognosis.
Our doctors utilize the newest and most reliable
methods of screening on all of our patients to
determine their risks of developing cancer and
to detect any cellular abnormalities.
|
| Family
cancer counseling |
We
understand that the impact of cancer extends beyond
the individual. Naturally, family and friends
are concerned about the well being of their loved
one. We believe that the family educated about
the disease process and the potential treatments
is the family that can offer the best support.
We invite our patients to include their loved
ones in all discussions of treatment options.
Our doctors and nurses are always available to
address any questions.
|
| Clinical
research |
Our
involvement in various clinical research trials
allows our patients to receive the newest and
best therapies to treat their diseases.
|
| Ultrasound
and Bone Densitometry |
|
If
the physicians decide that diagnostic imaging
is necessary, we offer our patients ultrasounds
right here in the convenience of our office.
We also provide bone densitometry screenings
for our patients at risk of developing osteopenia
and osteoporosis.
|
| Nutritional
Services |
|
The
services of a Registered Dietitian (R.D.) are
available at the Lehigh Valley Women's Cancer
Center to help our cancer patients meet their
special nutritional needs.
|
| Biofeedback
and Psychotherapy |
We
recognize that a new diagnosis of cancer can be
frightening. Frequently, the best way to cope
with the physical and mental stresses that illness
brings about is to talk with a trained professional.
At Lehigh Valley Women's Cancer Center, we will
arrange necessary support services--including
biofeedback and psychotherapy--to help our patients
through the difficult times.
